Game Designer Skills

Brainstorming - In the world of game design, what comes first is the idea of the game and what the game would be about. Brainstorming for ideas is an important factor for game design, where you can release your creativeness to other people. Brainstorming is usually for the plot of the game, the main story line, the objects, the background, the locations, and the game sequence, all of these are beneficial in a game and what better way is to figure them out is by brainstorming ideas.

Business - Business is EXTREMELY important, your main point to make games is to make money and have fun while working. This also connects to brainstorming, with your ideas all planned for your game, you'll need to see if people would enjoy something like your game. Usually, people who play games will either like the game or not but there will always be a majority, whether the demographics say the don't like it or they don't, there will ALWAYS be a majority side. People mostly play games for competition, the story, and graphics, and if all of these are good, you are in for a healthy business.

Engineering - What ever would you do without something to actually make your game? This is what engineering is for. Engineering is an important factor, this is when you have all your ideas and plots planned out and you finally can make your game. Also adding in your unique type of game sequence, or adding in your design for characters, or adding in the backgrounds and scenery, adding usable objects and items. Things like that is what makes engineering extremely important when making a game.

Visual Arts - Now this can be a challenging part because this is where it takes some of the most time in the recent part of gaming. Since our technology has advanced over the years, it has been easier to make more good-looking games with better graphics, but that doesn't mean that it doesn't take a huge amount of work and time.
