GameMaker - Asteroids Part A

https://drive.google.com/file/d/18peADbwsNum3ClECGnM1i44q1cf4rSpO/view?usp=sharing One difficulty I had with the project was getting to actually draw the sprite, I had a lot of trouble making my own but I just ended up just making a simple triangle that took me five minutes to actually create a symmetrical looking triangle. I solved it by carefully making the triangle instead of actually trying to rush it like the one in the video. It was really hard to not mess up for some reason, but I eventually got it.

Final Project Proposal

My final project is going to be a game about a box escaping an obstacle course by Dr. Yellow. There are two types of enemies, the purples and blues. The purples are pretty cautious so they do not fall off ledges, and will send you back to the save points. However, the blues are the boldest out of everyone, so they will actually send you back to the start of the game instead of the save point so be careful when you run into them. Your main objective is to just escape, you have access to jump boosts to jump over enemies and obstacles as well. Keep in mind that this was meant to be a prettying challenging game. It wasn't meant to be easy, ever. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IysShLIaosk&list=PLPRT_JORnIur3eKIaD-IayrdEt8pOor18 I will be using this video tutorial on how to make a platform type of game, but with my own type of twists, sprites, and graphics. The game will look like a pixelated game, because that's the kind of genre that I want to create because the old clas

GameMaker - Catch The Clown

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1WB5VOIBP-swURWogfug6c1BGVnxUhke3/view?usp=sharing I had some difficulties being able to download some of the sprites from the instructions and also following the code correctly. I kind of just read it again over and over until I eventually get it and review over what I had done in the code. As for downloading the sprites and things, I just moved onto another computer and I got it onto my files being able to download it and use it for my game.

GameMaker - Astroids - Part C

https://drive.google.com/file/d/18peADbwsNum3ClECGnM1i44q1cf4rSpO/view?usp=sharing I had a hard time figuring out a font for my game over screen and trying to match it up with my score tracker and my lives. I eventually just figured it out and matched it up like how the video said to do it. I was just putting the wrong input in. Other than that I didn't really have too much trouble with this part. I kind of made things different by changing the colours of things and changing up the looks of the asteroids, by putting faces on them. I tried to create a different looking ship but it ended up looking extremely terrible and it didn't exactly look how I wanted it to look, it was also pretty big and I didn't want to make it have a huge hit box to make it easy to die so I just left it off as a triangular spaceship that shoots tiny portions of fruit roll-ups. To the invisibility part of the game, I added a face in one frame so it flashes a smile at you each time it switches to w

GameMaker - Astroids - Part B

https://drive.google.com/file/d/18peADbwsNum3ClECGnM1i44q1cf4rSpO/view?usp=sharing I had some trouble fixing the placing of the score tracker, it wouldn't stay in one place no matter how much I had changed the code on where to place it and things. I kind of fixed it by just getting help from a friend and changing it to "fa_left" and "fa_middle". I also had a little problem with the sound effects, it kind of just kept glitching a bit, so I switched computers and it worked.

Scratch Level 4 - Create Your Own Game

I had A LOT of difficulties with bugs, and things that weren't supposed to do the things they weren't supposed to. I sort of fixed them by switching and changing some of the codes around, where if this is supposed to disappear and it doesn't do it, then I'll just make it disappear again. Also, the text box glitch when the opponent's pokemon faints, is almost impossible to fix, so it's left in the game. Some other things I had trouble with were just mixing things around with other codes, or accidentally leaving some code that wasn't supposed to be there on that code. For example, I left a code that stops everything on a separate script and that stopped the whole game, when I removed

Indie Game: The Movie

1. Some of the differences of big games and independent games are that the big games usually look "high budget" like it looks really good, it's made by multiple people, the art work and graphics are made by multiple teams and the style of the games are quite mainstream. However, in a independent game, you're free to do whatever, make whatever you want, the art style can be lazy, or cartoon-ish. But doing an independent game can be very difficult as it takes a long time to make by only yourself or a couple others. 2. Some of the things that the developers had to overcome was the fact that the game can be very glitchy, and it can ruin the game, or the fact that their fans wanted the game as soon as possible, or pleaded for the game to come out. Not only that but overcoming mental health as well, as some went through depression, and some might've gone through sleep deprivation. 3. The things that I would like about working on an indie game would be that I can mak
